amnosure

I’m not sure who this blog is for. Especially since no one knows about it and therefore no one is reading it. If a blog exists and isn’t read does it really exist? If it falls down in a forest does it make a noise?

Good day with Arlo – watched runners, went to park, had patatas bravas in tobacco factory, walked to new house, walked to steam train via South Bank Centre where there was a dancing class he watch and damn near joined in with, saw a fire engine, went on steam train home. All this with the remnants of a cold.

His word count is shooting up and today was a day of doing words. Singing, running, dancing, jumping, marching.

House is exchanged. A weight is lifted. We hope to see it tomorrow and start planning. More lists will ensue and finally finally we will have a house. We’ve been six months between houses, but it will be longer still before we get to move in. And then it will be worth it.

And then we’ll get a camper van as well.

punch the air brilliance

There are days and there are days. Today was a day.

Took Arlo swimming and after worrying a little as Makka Pakka (stuffed toy) had to stay in mummy’s locker rather than coming to the pool, he soon got the gist. Indeed he soon wanted to just go swimming without the help of either of us. Absolutely fantastic – Arlo’s not been near a swimming pool for what must be over a year. We tried to take him while in London but he fell asleep in the car on the way over and we ended up just looking at the torrential rain from our car in the car park. It was like a Scottish holiday – several Scottish holidays come to that.

Arlo is now prepared for his swimming class on Monday.

We then went to the farm shop for veg – Arlo regarded the young man (lord I sound like I’m forty sometimes, don’t I?) and observed: “Man, Boots, Jeans”.

We then went to Sainsburies – mainly for tins – and Arlo revealed he can say Onion. All very impressive. Plus he didn’t go to sleep before tea AND he still had time to get everyone to dance to Reuben Gonzalez before bed.

Like I say, there are days.

it’ll be just like starting over

I have attempted blogging before and always failed due to:

1: lack of time

2: over worried about what I’ve said and need to edit / censor

3: over worried about spelling

4: fear of failure (probably – see above)

This one shall be different. Oh yes, just watch how different it is, boy oh boy so different I can’t begin to tell you.

Current status:

House: in process of being bought. Quotes are in for the following activities: damp proofing, replacement of radiators and pipework, complete rewiring job, reroofing job, and several other things that make it look like this is a build it up from the ground again job. It kind of is, but it’ll be fab to do. And to finally live in. We have yet to peruse the builder’s full quote as it goes on and on for ages.

Boy: Arlo in good form, if over tired (as is his dad, lets face it) after a few days of being away. We have glowing reports from medical teams, happy relatives and a boy who dances to Reuben Gonzales and insists that bear dances too. He’s now asleep. Lord knows what he’ll make of the rewiring work. Thankfully he won’t be in the house at the same time.

We’re in the last week of house sitting before returning to lodging at rooms with Grandparents. Another day or so of moving boxes and bags looms on the horizon. Huzzah!

Rain is falling again. Has summer happened?
